(Myofascial Trigger Point Dry Needling):
Note: The needles used in dry needling are very similar to that what is used in traditional acupuncture, however the technique and philosophy is different.
Dry needling is an effective technique for the treatment of muscular pain and tendinopathies. The technique locates and treats myofascial “trigger points” within muscles. The procedure involves inserting a thin filament needle through the skin and muscle affecting the “trigger point”. These “trigger points” are related to the production and maintenance of the pain cycle.
Dry needling in combination with Chiropractic adjustments helps target the areas of pain and dysfunction in the muscular system. It can help stimulate the nervous and circulatory systems to improve nerve function and increase blood flow to the injured area promoting a faster healing response.
